First 5 second 1/4 mile runs for Force of Nature
After some very close times near to the illusive 5 second 1/4 mile, running 6.05 and 6.07 at Santa Pod Main Event, and Festival of Power respectivly,
It was only time until we ran our first 5 second standing 1/4 mile.
We travelled up to Campbelltown on the Mull of Kintyre Scotland a few weeks after Santa Pod, and ran twice on the Saturday because the weather forcast for the Sunday didnt look good.
We ran at 10.45 am and ran a blistering 5.90 second 1/4. We had done it! what an achievement. To back up the run, we prepared ther bike again making no changes to the set up and at 4.06 pm we ran another 5 second run, this time a 5.97.
A 5 second 1/4 was one of the first objectives to try and achieve with the bike and we have only gone and done it!
The bike is now to be stripped down and the vessel is to be taken to CPE Pressure Vessels to have a thorough inspection and crack test and pressure test to 80 Bar. The bike with this vessel has now reached 25 Heat cycles and is due for its inpection.
