Second quickest bike in the 1/4
At the Festival of Power at Santa Pod over the Easter break, We ran quicker and faster than we have ever run before. Not only the fastest and quickest Steam powered land vehicle ever, but oner of the quickest runs by a motorcycle.
Over the standing 1/4 mile, we ran 5.503 seconds at 192.94 mph. The amazing thing is the 1/8 mile time and speed were 3.258 seconds at 209.93 mph and 4.388 seconds at 203.36mph at the 1000 ft mark. We have been told that this makes that run the second quickest 1/4 mile run for a motorcycle in the world, beating USAs Larry Spiderman McBride by 3 thousands of second. Larry is wheel driven not thrust powered so his achievment is utterly phenominal. The quickest and fastest bike is Frenchman Eric Teboul who, riding his Hydrogen Peroxide powered rocket bike achieved a staggering 4.9766 second 1/4 mile pass at an unbelievable speed of 290.51 mph.
I doubt we will ever be able to achieve his time and we will never beat his speed as we run out of fuel at the 1/8th
